A La Carte Package

The A La Carte Package is uniquely designed to suit the student’s individual needs. An experienced UCC mentor will counsel the student in areas of his or her choice. UCC fees will be accessed on a per hour basis.

 

Bronze Package

The Bronze Package is designed to assist the high school student in determining the most appropriate college institutions that can meet their educational goals and to provide guidance in the college application, interview, and financial aid process. College Search

  • Includes an in-depth, 2-hour intake that we will use to determine:
    • Key college-choice characteristics (location, size, cost, academic and recreational offerings)
    • Area of study (major)
    • Potential career goals
    • Earnings goals
  • Compile a list of safety, target, and reach schools best suited to student and parent desires
  • Recommend final, condensed list of colleges and universities students should apply based on incoming test and academic scores.

 

College Applications for Admission

  • Detailed, step-by-step assistance filling out college applications (we will walk parents and students through their applications providing in depth advice on word choice and submitting insightful answers)
  • Review of highlights to include on application such as:
    • Academic accomplishments
    • Extra-curricular accomplishments
    • Personality and character strengths
  • Guidance on obtaining excellent letters of recommendation
  • Advice on how to make the most out of a college visit

 

Essay assistance

  • Topic selection
  • How to frame the admission essays and detailed essay outlines.  Service is limited to outlines for 3 long-answer essays (400-700 words) and 3 short-answer essays (less than 400 words).  Additional essay outlines include a charge of $100 per long-answer essay and $50 per short-answer essay.

 

Silver Package

The Silver Package is designed to assist the high school student in determining the most appropriate college institutions that can meet their educational goals and to provide guidance in the college application, interview and financial aid process. Essay assistance

  • Topic selection
  • Create detailed essay outlines and edit essays
    • Critique and edit essays including short-answer responses.  Service is limited to 3 long-answer essays (400-700 words) and 3 short-answer essays (less than 400 words).
    • This service includes one critique and edit per essay after the student submits initial essay to UCC and one additional critique and edit per essay before final college application submission.

 

College Applications for Admission

  • Tailored applications to meet the requirements of the specific colleges and major the student is seeking
  • Provide a list and send email reminders regarding deadlines for chosen colleges
  • Action Plan for college application submission with organizational timeline
  • Recommendations for extracurricular involvement and summer activities
  • Final review of applications before they are sent
  • Discussion about how to maximize remaining time in high school for more appealing college applications
  • Prepare students for an admissions or scholarship interview if necessary

 

Letters of Recommendation

  • Guidance on obtaining timely submission of excellent letters of recommendation
  • Guidance on preparation of high school resume that can be provided to individuals writing letters of recommendation for the student
  • Work with students to recall and organize important activities, accomplishments, and honors.

 

College Acceptance

  • Assistance making final choice when decision letters are received
  • High school to college moving and transition guidance

 

 

Gold Package

The Gold Package includes all the services in the Bronze and Silver Packages, plus:

  • Arrangement of college visits by UCC
  • Scheduling meetings with key faculty and/or administrative contacts at selected colleges
  • One hour weekly follow up until college admission

The Gold Package also includes a monthly follow-up throughout the student’s first year of adapting to college life. This ongoing mentorship will focus on:

  • Home to college life transition
  • Forming and keeping a study schedule
  • Daily planning and work life balance
  • College activity selection
  • Effective note taking
  • Financial budgeting (including credit card advising)
  • Socialization
  • Homesickness
  • Major and/or coursework change
